Description
HMS Cockchafer custom built ship model
There have been a total of four ships in the British Royal Navy with the name Cockchafer, perhaps the most known of which being the one built in 1915. This particular model ship is of the Cockchafer belonged to the Royal Navy in 1812. She was a 5-gun schooner previously owned by the Americans under the name Spencer, but was captured by the Royal Navy in 1812 and eventually sold in 1815. This model ship was built following a request from a client. As we had never built this particular model before, we had to do extensive research including sourcing ship plans to ensure the finished product was as accurate as possible.
Our custom built model ships are all handcrafted using the highest quality materials and strongest attention to detail by master model makers with vast experience and skill. They are built to be entirely accurate replicas and with the greatest care because we understand that the model is just as important as the ship to our clients.
