Description
Milford Star Model Boat Kit
Box contents:
The hull is a fully detailed GRP moulding with CNC cut ply deck and superstructure A full set of white metal fittings, dowel, tube, rod etc. to complete the model as illustrated. The Milford Star benefits greatly from the added paraphernalia of nets, buoys and ropes. Internal lighting can be added to give additional realism to those late night Summer and Autumn sailings.
The Milford Star was an early 1930’s ship first built for the purposes of use as a trawler. The Milford Star had seven sister ships, including the Sir Kay, who all belonged to the group known as the Round Table Class minesweepers. This derived from the fact that all 8 ships in the group were named after Knights of the Round Table. Although first fitted as a trawler, like her sister ships, she was used during the war. All eight ships in the group survived the war and were later refitted for use as trawlers once again.
