About the Elbjorn Icebreaker
The Elbjorn Icebreaker, based in Denmark, operated between the years of 1954 and 1996. Icebreaker ships were designed to break through icy waters due to its strengthened hull. This would make sailing easier for smaller ships.
Following an accident, the Elbjorn Icebreaker managed to get back to port, though it’s days as an operating icebreaker ship were over. Today, it operates as a museum and restaurant at Aalborg’s waterfront.
