Description
This model of a Vard 303 vessel is lovingly crafted by our expert model makers in our Workshop in Mauritius. She is recreated matching the design specifications of the real ship and is primarily made of high quality wood, painted to look like the real ship.
Vard 3 vessels are multi-purpose light construction vessels which are used in subsea conditions. The Vard 303 was a specially designed vessel for use in construction of subsea plants and apparatus as a Diving Support and Construction Vessel. She was designed with a high focus on good sea-keeping abilities, high station keeping performance as well as low fuel construction. Fitted with a 250 ton offshore crane, an ROV Hanger and a Twin Bell 18 Man Saturation Diving System her specifications allow her for split level diving operations to reach a depth of 300 meters.
The Vard 303 was finished in 2016 and was mostly build in the Vard Tulcea Shipyards in Romania with an intention to be sold to the company Harkand in Norway. Although the sale fell through in 2016 she was later purchased by TechnipFMC who added the vessel to their fleet of Subsea Pipelay, Diving and Construction Ships. She was renamed the Deep Discoverer by TechnipFMC who use the vessel primarily in the North Sea, servicing diving construction and Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) Markets.
