The Tirpitz battleship model is one of our great detailed kits for ship modelling enthusiasts from our Aeronaut product range. The models manufactured by Aeronaut are designed to appeal to the ‘radio control’ modellers. Aeronaut produces also a wide range of fine quality working modern fittings for use with radio controlled ship models. The quality of R/C models by Aeronaut represents a long lasting history which dates back to 1922 when a Master joiner Alois Eggenweiler opens his carpenter shop.
This detailed model is a 1:200 scale model made of plastic hull and wooden decks containing also wooden and plastic fittings. The ship model kit pack also includes a detailed manual in several languages and additional plan for completion of the plastic hull, deck, rudder, wood and cardboard sections, propellers with shafts and tubes.
The detailed wooden or plastic fittings include portholes, anchors, anchor cables, headlights, flag-pole, hawse pipes, anchor capstans, life-boats, traffic boats, anti-aircraft artillery, triple turrets, torpedo pipes, masts and many more. The Tirpitz ship model kit can be also used for sailing on the water.
Tirpitz was second battleship of the Bismarck class battleships serving in the World War II. The ship is named after Alfred von Tirpitz, the Grand Admiral who was behind the creation of the Kaiserliche Marine. The ship was launched in 1939 and commissioned in 1941 into the German fleet. Tirpitz firstly served in the Baltic Fleet, then she sailed to Norway to act as a deterrent against the Allied invasion and after several more missions she was eventually broken up between 1948 and 1957.
