The RV Keary, named after Raymond Keary, a pioneer marine geologist, is an Irish naval research boat. The boat has been specifically designed as an aluminium catamaran, built for conducting shallow water surveys. The main objective of the RV Keary is to obtain survey information in order for the national INFOMAR program can be carried out. The boat is usually manned by a crew of three, where two serve as deckhands and the third staff as the skipper. She has a total length of 15 meters with a draft of 1.7 meters.

The boat features of two cabins with a shower and small galley area. Inside the boat is equipped with a high resolutions GPS system, IT infrastructure, ancillary sensors and other depth surveying equipment.
