Description
The MV-C Odyssey custom model ship
This MV-C Odyssey work vessel ship model was built as a custom model for a client located in Orkney, UK. The original ship is a work boat used for the purposes of harvesting energy from marine renewables. These sources of energy include surface waves, salinity gradients, thermal and fluid flow. The boat would typically use its features for the following functions; heavy lifting, ROV support, towage installation, dive support, and decommissioning works. The MV-C Odyssey is owned by Leask Marine and is an important vessel for the harvesting of renewable energy at sea.
The ship has 2 twin berths and 2 single berths and has the potential of holding 12 passengers and members of crew. Commissioned in Port Kirkwall, she has a length of 26 metres, a beam of 10.5 metres and a draught of 2.5 metres. She can hold a total fuel capacity of 100 metres cubed. She can reach a maximum speed of 10 knots using her twin Caterpillar C32 engines that generate up to 2,400 break horse power. She is propelled by 2 1,500 metres propellers located at the rear of the vessel.
This model was built as a custom project and therefore was created entirely from scratch using the original plans of the ship. It has been crafted from high quality materials and built with a strong attention to detail. The model was built by Premier Ship Models and has been handcrafted by model makers with vast experience. The skill of those involved in building this model has resulted in the model having absolute accuracy to the original ship. You can browse our full range of custom model ships by clicking here.
