Description
The Andrea Gail was a commercial fishing vessel, operating in the 1990s. On September 20th 1991, the vessel set sail from Gloucester Harbour with 6 crew members on board. They intended to make a fishing trip for swordfish in the proximity of the Grand Banks off of the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
On October 30th 1991, the vessel was reported overdue by the owner, and an intensive air and sea search mission was conducted. To this day, the vessel remains unfound and the 6 crew members are presumed lost at sea.
This terrifically intricate model includes plank on frame construction, laser cut plywood keel and frame components, as well as a wooden superstructure and decks. The planning sheet is full-sized, and it measures in at a scale of 1/60. It’s recommended for beginners.
