Windstar Cruises has officially opened bookings for its Winter 2027–2028 season, unveiling 21 new itineraries and more than 230 sailings across Tahiti, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Canary Islands, Morocco, Canada, and New England. Operating from September 2027 through April 2028, the six-yacht deployment reinforces the brand’s reputation for intimate, culturally immersive journeys designed around smaller ports and longer stays.
As demand for small-ship cruising continues to rise, travellers are increasingly planning premium trips further in advance to secure preferred suites and rare routes. Windstar’s latest program responds to that trend with unique sailings, extended voyages, and itineraries that offer access to destinations beyond the reach of large cruise ships.
To mark the launch, the cruise line is offering an Early Booking promotion on select departures booked by April 30, 2026. Guests can receive a complimentary all-inclusive package featuring Wi-Fi, select unlimited beverages, and gratuities, along with onboard credit and additional savings for paid-in-full reservations. As with most limited-capacity sailings, fares are expected to increase as ships fill.
The Small-Ship Difference
Carrying between 148 and 342 guests, Windstar’s yachts deliver a more private and relaxed atmosphere than traditional mega-ships. Their compact size allows them to dock closer to historic city centres, navigate narrower waterways, and remain in port later into the evening. In warmer climates, select ships open a watersports marina directly from the stern, allowing guests to swim, kayak, or paddleboard straight from the yacht.
Onboard experiences are designed to feel refined yet unpretentious. Culinary programming includes specialty dining developed in partnership with the James Beard Foundation, alongside 24-hour room service and open-air deck events. Select itineraries also feature Destination Discovery Events—immersive evenings ashore that combine local cuisine, music, and cultural performances in distinctive venues.
Regional Highlights for Winter 2027–2028
In the South Pacific, Windstar introduces a rare deployment tied to a Singapore repositioning, offering longer combination voyages through French Polynesia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. Some extended sailings include overnight stays in Bali and options for multi-week crossings between the Pacific and Southeast Asia.
Latin America programs return with nature-focused itineraries through Costa Rica and a fully narrated daytime transit of the Panama Canal. Guests may also extend their journeys inland with cruise tours to iconic landmarks such as Machu Picchu.
In Asia, the newest yacht enhances the region’s offerings with expanded Japan routes and Southeast Asia sailings. Small-ship access allows docking in the heart of major cities, while optional overland programs explore cultural treasures including Angkor Wat.
European winter sunshine comes via the Canary Islands and Morocco, where itineraries feature extended time in Casablanca and festive New Year sailings timed to Madeira’s renowned fireworks celebrations.
The Caribbean program blends relaxed island-hopping with hidden harbours and marina-access water activities, while late-season voyages in Canada, New England, and Greenland provide a cooler-climate contrast with scenic coastal exploration.
A Season Built on Immersion
Across every region, Windstar’s Winter 2027–2028 season is built around unhurried travel. Longer port stays, smaller guest counts, and carefully curated shore programs create space for meaningful experiences rather than rushed sightseeing. From wildlife encounters in Central America to temple visits in Southeast Asia and sunset swims in the South Pacific, each itinerary is crafted to feel personal and expFeriential.
