MSC Cruises has announced that the MSC Meraviglia will be based in the Southern Caribbean for the first time during the 2027–28 winter cruise season, marking a major shift in the ship’s deployment and expanding the brand’s presence in the region.
Transatlantic Voyage to Launch Caribbean Deployment
To position the ship for its new winter home, the 2017-built MSC Meraviglia will embark on a 14-night transatlantic crossing in early November 2027. Departing from Southampton, the repositioning cruise will feature a diverse itinerary across Europe, the Atlantic, and the Caribbean before arriving in Fort-de-France, Martinique.
Planned port calls include:
- Le Havre, France
- Ponta Delgada, Azores
- St. John’s, Antigua
- Kingstown, Saint Vincent
- Bridgetown, Barbados
This scenic crossing will officially usher the ship into its first Southern Caribbean season.
Weekly Cruises from Martinique and Guadeloupe
Following its arrival, the MSC Meraviglia is expected to begin weeklong Southern Caribbean cruises:
- Departing Martinique starting November 20, 2027
- Departing Guadeloupe starting November 21, 2027
MSC Cruises has confirmed that additional itinerary details and sailing options will be released closer to the season.
Global Itinerary Shifts Before 2027
Prior to its Caribbean debut, the MSC Meraviglia will continue an extensive global deployment. After several years sailing from New York City, the ship is scheduled to:
- Return to the Western Mediterranean in mid-April 2026
- Operate weeklong Mediterranean cruises to Spain, Italy, Tunisia, and France through October
- Reposition to Miami for the 2026–27 winter season
- Sail from Southampton in summer 2027, replacing the MSC Virtuosa in the UK market

As the flagship vessel of MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia class, the 167,600-ton, 4,500-guest MSC Meraviglia was built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France and entered service in 2017.
