In his account, “Sailing Alone Around the World”, Captain Joshua Slocum sailed for three years in his rebuilt 100-year-old oyster sloop. It is still considered one of the greatest adventures of all times since he had none of the modern navigation and sailing aids of today. Unfortunately, the Spray and Captain Slocum were lost at sea bound for South America from Vineyard, Massachusetts sometime after November 14, 1909.
This kit is recommended for modelers with plank on frame experience, due to the complexity of the hull shape and extra think planking. Much of the wood is laser cut, all rigging line, Britannia fittings, sailcloth and display cradle are included.
