Description

The RMS Titanic Lifeboat No 7 Model ship is a beautifully crafted replica of the lifeboat that famously survived the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. This model is produced by OMH, a company known for their attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship.

The model measures approximately 22 inches in length and is made from high-quality materials, including wood and brass. It is designed to be a static model and does not include any RC functionality. The lifeboat is painstakingly replicated, with accurate details and markings that reflect the original vessel.

The model is an excellent addition to any maritime enthusiast’s collection or as a display piece in a home or office. It is also an ideal gift for anyone interested in the Titanic’s history, as it offers a tangible representation of one of the most famous lifeboats from that tragic event.

Lifeboat No 7 was one of the 20 lifeboats that were aboard the RMS Titanic when it sank on April 15, 1912. The lifeboat, which could accommodate up to 65 people, was launched from the starboard side of the ship at around 12:45 am, after the Titanic struck an iceberg and began to sink.

The lifeboat was filled with a mix of first-class and second-class passengers, as well as some crew members. Among the notable passengers on board were Margaret Brown, who would later become known as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” and Frederick Fleet, who had been on lookout duty when the iceberg was spotted.

Lifeboat No 7 was one of the first lifeboats to be launched and was quickly filled to capacity. However, the boat was also one of the few to return to the scene of the sinking to try and rescue more passengers. They were ultimately unsuccessful and instead joined forces with Lifeboat No 5, which had also returned to help.

In total, Lifeboat No 7 rescued around 28 survivors, including Brown and Fleet. The lifeboat was eventually picked up by the RMS Carpathia, the ship that responded to the Titanic’s distress call and rescued the majority of the survivors.

Today, the story of Lifeboat No 7 serves as a reminder of the bravery and heroism displayed by those who survived the Titanic’s sinking. The model of the lifeboat offers a way to keep that history alive and pay homage to those who were involved in the tragedy.
