Did you know the builder of Endeavour J Class Yacht, Camper and Nicholson are said to be the world’s oldest marine company? And that they specialise at the upper end of the market? The company was founded in Gosport, Hampshire. Of the four J class yachts built by Camper and Nicholson, three raced in the famous America’s Cup. Shamrock V, with Sir Thomas Lipton as its founder is well known for being the first J class yacht that was designed by Charles Nicholson. The Endeavor J Class yacht is another one of the most famous creations by Camper and Nicholson.

Endeavour J Class Yacht: Rebuilding

In the year 1984, Endeavour was in a bad condition soElizabeth Meyer bought the yacht and dedicated five years to rebuilding it. She first ensured the hull should be seaworthy, as it was meant to be towed towards the Royal Huisman shipyard in Holland. There a new rig wasinstalled; thepower of the generator was increased, the mechanical systems were fixed and the interiors were properly constructed. On 22 1989 June after a span of 52 years Endeavour set sail again. In 2000 it was sold to L. Dennis Kozolowski for 15 million dollars. CassioAntunes, a Hawaiian resident bought it for 13milliondollars in 2006.
