About the Deck-Boat St. Gabriel
Deck boat “St. Gabriel” was constructed on the eastern coast of Kamchatka peninsula and subsequently commissioned as an exploration ship for the First Kamchatka expedition. This expedition was led by the Russian explorer Vitus Bering in 1728. After the expedition completed journeys in the Pacific Ocean for 27 years. This ship is widely known for many historical events, including the first crossing of the Arctic Circle in Chukchi Sea by Europeans in 1728, discovery of Alaska in 1732 and the first visit to Japan by Russians in 1739.

Built on a scale of 1:72, the St. Gabriel is an extremely detailed ship model kit with laser cut wooden parts to ensure for a smooth assembly. The laser etched deck is made of anigre veneer. The model includes detailed sail plans and cloth for sewing the sails and Different diameters of tan thread for standing and running rigging. The kit includes high quality pearwood blocks and a multitude of highly detailed photo-etched brass parts. Instructions are provided in as much detail as possible with 3 sheets of plans, 2 tables with rigging details, one text manual and one photo manual. The model comes with two name plates, one in English and one in Russian, which can be used alternately depending on your preference.
