This is a scale model of an English Brigantine, popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. A brig is a vessel with two masts square rigged like a ship’s foremast and mainmast, but also carrying a fore and aft gaff-and-boom mainsail. Brigs were widely used during the 17th and 18th centuries, and was introduced into English naval service in the 1770’s.
This kit is perfect for beginners, and measures in at a scale of 1:150, meaning it is 52 centimetres in length, 6 centimetres in width, and 18 in height. The hull is of plank-on-frame construction, and the entire kit includes a glue set, a plank bending tool, one 50-piece tool kit, a rigging tool, and a 3-gram fast clamp set.
With all of these tools at your disposal, you can build you Golden Star in no time!
