There is a point in most builds where hand tools become the slow option: drilling hundreds of pin holes, cleaning up laser cut char, shaping a solid hull, cutting brass, or sanding down a first planking layer.
What the range covers
Rotary multi tools with cutting, grinding, sanding and polishing accessories. Small drills and pin drills for fine holes. Sanders for hull fairing and surface preparation. Cutting tools for timber, brass and plastic. Accessories, bits and abrasive attachments are stocked alongside.
Two things worth knowing before buying
- Speed control beats power. A tool running too fast burns timber, melts plastic and grabs brass.
- Weight and balance matter. A flexible shaft or a lightweight body makes fine work far easier to control than a heavy handset.
Safety
Use eye protection and adequate ventilation, particularly when sanding painted surfaces or cutting brass. For work where accuracy matters more than speed, hand tools and clamps remain the better choice.
Common questions
Do I need power tools for a wooden ship kit?
No, but a small drill saves hours on a kit with heavy pin or treenail work.
Can I use a full size rotary tool?
You can, but the extra weight and speed make delicate work harder. Model scale tools exist for a reason.
