Trams
Tram kits for modellers who enjoy the same construction methods applied to something other than boats. Detailed, compact builds with bodywork, running gear and livery work to get right. A good project between larger ship models.

Trams sit slightly outside our main range, but they appeal to the same builders and use the same skills. A cut component frame, built up bodywork, applied detail parts in brass and cast metal, glazing, and a finish where paintwork and lining carry the result. If you have built a wooden boat kit, you already have what these need.
Where the interest is
Destination boards, lamps, rails, steps, platforms, trolley poles or pantographs, seating and internal fittings, depending on the kit. Livery is usually what makes a finished tram recognisable, and a well lined body in an operator’s colours looks considerably better than an accurate but plainly painted one.
Why builders choose them
- A shorter project between larger ship builds
- A local or family connection to a particular tramway or town
- They display in far less space than most ship models need
- They suit a cabinet or a single shelf rather than a table
What is not included
As with our ship and boat kits, paints, lining materials, fine brushes, adhesives and tweezers are generally not supplied. See paints and tools and accessories.
Common questions
Are tram kits harder than boat kits?
Different rather than harder. There is no planking or rigging, but the finishing and lining work is less forgiving.
What scale are they?
It varies by manufacturer and is stated on each listing. Check before buying a second kit if you want them displayed together.
Do they include glazing?
Most do. The listing states what is supplied.
