Modern warships are all angles, arrays and deck markings, and a good model gets those right. These are built with correct superstructure profiles, weapon mounts, radar and sensor fits, railings and ladders, flight deck markings and hull numbers in the right places.
What the range covers
- Battleships and capital ships of both world wars
- Royal Navy vessels, historic and modern
- Aircraft carriers, with deck aircraft where the model carries them
- Destroyers, frigates and patrol craft
- Submarines, surfaced on a cradle or waterline
How they are made
Hull and superstructure are built in timber and composite, faired and finished in correct naval greys with deck contrast. Fine parts, railings, ladders, aerials and radar arrays, are produced so they read as thin rather than moulded, which is the single clearest difference between a proper warship model and a toy. Models are supplied on a cradle or pedestal mount.
Who buys them
Serving and former personnel, families marking a relative’s service, cadet units and associations, maritime and defence businesses, and collectors who prefer the steel era to the age of sail. They work well as leaving and retirement gifts because they display in an office without needing a cabinet.
Full hull or waterline
Full hull models on a cradle show the underwater form and suit a cabinet or shelf. Waterline models sit flat, take less depth and look correct on a desk. Both appear across the range and the listing states which you are buying.
Common questions
Can I get a specific ship my relative served on?
If she is not in the range, our custom service builds to order from photographs and records, including the correct pennant number for a given commission.
Are the models to a consistent scale?
No. Scale varies by vessel so that a carrier and a frigate both end up a practical size. If you are building a matched set, check the stated scale on each listing.
Do you sell warship kits as well?
Yes, in our model ship kits section. This section is finished models only.
