Rowing Boats
Rowing boat and small craft models built to order, including racing shells, skiffs, gigs, clinker dinghies and traditional pulling boats. Made for clubs, crews, boatbuilders and owners who want a specific boat recorded properly.
Small craft leave no room for approximation. A clinker hull needs visible, evenly spaced lands. A racing shell needs the correct number of seats, riggers and blade pattern. A gig needs the right thwarts, knees, gunwale and stem profile.
Built from lines, not impressions
Because these boats are simple, every line shows. There is no deck clutter or rigging to distract the eye, so an error in sheer or beam is obvious. We work from lines plans, offsets or measured photographs, and confirm key dimensions with you before building.
Club colours and trophies
A model can carry club colours, blade design, boat name and an engraved plate recording a crew, a season, a regatta win or a presentation, which makes it a natural trophy or leaving gift. Sets recording several crews or boats can be built to a common scale for a clubhouse display.
Construction and mounting
Timber throughout, with planking, thwarts, knees, riggers and oars made individually rather than cast as a unit. Oars can be shipped, stowed or set in the rowlocks. Mounting options include a fitted cradle, a wall board, or a base representing water.
Repeat awards
Once a master model exists, further copies can be produced more quickly and at lower cost, which suits an annual award. Raise it at enquiry stage if that is the plan. Start here.
Common questions
Can you model our club’s boat with its own livery?
Yes. Send photographs of the boat and blades and we will match the colours and design.
What size suits a clubhouse display?
Tell us the space and we will advise. These are long, thin subjects, so length is usually the constraint rather than height.
