Classic Yacht & Boats
Commission a model of a classic yacht or wooden boat, from gaff cutters and schooners to motor launches and runabouts. Built to order from your photographs or original drawings, with the planking and brightwork that define these boats.

Classic craft are defined by their timber, so these models are built in real wood rather than painted to imitate it. Hull planking, laid decks, coamings, skylights and cockpit joinery are made in timber and finished to show the grain, with brass and nickel fittings where the original carried them.
Two kinds of commission
The first is a boat currently sailing or under restoration, built from survey drawings and photographs of her as she is today. The second is a boat long gone, worked up from yard drawings, class records, registers or family photographs. Where a boat has been rebuilt or re-rigged, tell us which period you want represented.
Options to decide
- Sails in cloth, set or furled, or carved for a permanent pose
- Standing rigging only, or full standing and running rigging
- Full hull on a fitted cradle, or waterline on a sea base
- Engraved plate recording name, designer, year and yard
- A fitted case made to the finished dimensions
Who commissions these
Owners and syndicates, classic yacht clubs, restorers and boatyards, and families marking a boat passing on. They are also ordered as regatta prizes and as presentations marking a restoration completed.
Other options
Stock classic yacht models are in ready made classic yachts, and kit versions in classic yacht kits. To start a commission, send us your details.
Common questions
My boat is mid restoration. Can you still build her?
Yes, either as she will look on completion or as she was originally, whichever you prefer.
Do you match the timber to the real boat?
We select timbers and finishes to reflect the actual boat as closely as scale allows, including the contrast between deck, coachroof and topsides.
